![]() Ha ha, well I got little carried away here, but I hope I helped you some. I started learning the scripting then too and I'm still using it today, but you don't need scripting to do a lot of things in Kontakt. I got Kontakt when it first came out with Kontakt 2, and I can't tell you how much I learned, not only about Kontakt, but how orchestras are set up. There's so many ways you can set up the instruments and it has some great FX too. ![]() One of the things about Kontakt's instruments is that they can be great learning tools. Kontakt's VSL library is pretty simple, but quite usable when used for what it is. This library features two strings orchestras, vintage synths, and unconventional elements for sound design, which means that it differs from the traditional orchestral string libraries quite a lot. The thing to do is check out each library's manual as to what all they use. This is especially true for orchestra libraries and provides you with not only volume changes but timbre changes as well. The Mod Wheel, usually CC1, can be used for various things, but it's mainly used for crossfading between different sample layers, like pp, p, f, and ff. Actually it's just another volume control and when used with CC7 Volume it does give you more control. It has also been equipped Frozen Strings, Synth Pads, Choir, Electric Piano, Charango and Soft Piano. What Are the Best String Libraries for Kontakt I’ve tried many Kontakt string libraries over the years, and I’ve narrowed down this list to four of my favorites. This impressive instrument is used all over his scores. Hey bigtop, most of NI instruments use CC11 for expression, which I guess is because it's called CC11 Expression. Spitfire Audio Labs KONTAKT Libraries has got Peel Guitar which is sampled by Christian Henson way back in the year 2006. In my Spitfire instruments, this is straightforward as I can use the Dynamics and Expression sliders.Īny Native Instruments power users out there with any top tips appreciated. ![]() I would like to record some gentle expression using the Mod Wheel on my MIDI controller but not sure which parameter of Native Instruments VST is best for this modulation (possibly Velocity, volume or "sound" in case of session strings)? I have some MIDI phrases recorded using Native Instruments Kontakt Library VSL Orchestra instruments and also Session Strings. ![]()
